The Human Breathing System

The human breathing system
The human breathing system

Breathing involves movement of air in and out of the lungs. All animals and human beings need air to live. Breathing is very important, it involves taking clean air into the lungs and taking out waste air out of the lungs.

All animals including human beings need air to live. A person cannot stay for three minutes without breathing.  That is why breathing is an important process.

Air enters the lungs when we breathe in and air leaves the lungs when we breathe out.

Breathing in is also called inhaling.

Breathing out is also called exhaling.

The air we breathe is made up of a mixture of gases. But only two gases are involved in breathing: Oxygen and carbon dioxide.

We inhale oxygen and use it. We exhale carbon dioxide as a waste gas.

When we breath out, carbon dioxide is passed out of the body.
